It seems that UK CBD companies are doing surprisingly well despite the pandemic, but there’s a very important date coming up. In the last few years, the UK CBD market has taken a massive jump in spite of the restrictions around the substance. Back in May, Forbes reported how demand for the substance had grown hugely despite the pressures of the pandemic. In their report, they cited a study by Alphagreen.io, that suggested that more than 8 million British people are spending their money on CBD products “with spending exceeding £150m in the first four months of 2020 alone.” Novel Foods Application Deadline CBD has done shockingly well in the United Kingdom despite the obstacles that it faces, including restrictions on THC content, the ways in which CBD can be marketed and criticism of the cultivation of hemp plants. Now, many CBD manufacturers are trying to get ahead of another impending obstacle – the novel foods application. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has given the entire CBD industry until March 31st to submit a valid novel food authorisation application.
