Interview with a Breeder: Expert Seeds

Expert Seeds are a collective of breeders from different European countries, who together, have decades of breeding experience behind them. Renowned for their selective breeding of the world’s most famous strains, we sat down with Julien Porric to learn the ins and outs of the business. How did you get into the cannabis business, can you tell us a bit about how and why you started your company? For me, it all started with a trip to Holland, and my first visit to a coffee shop and having the freedom to buy quality cannabis, I thought I could well see myself in this industry in the future. Sweet Zombie Some years later we started retailing seeds in Ireland and grew a network of friends and partners in the industry. we spent time in Spain, UK and US with breeders and growers until we decided to start our own seedbank Expert seeds, followed a few years later by garden of green as we collaborated with different breeders. As the saying goes, when you do what you love you never work a day in your life so creating our seedbanks came from that. How have you seen things change in the cannabis breeding world over the years? When we started, the Dutch seedbanks were dominating the market, with high price, and regular seeds, until the revolution of feminized seeds, then autoflowering, and with it, the emergence of a multitude of seed banks which completely changed the industry.
