Alert: Colorado Department of Revenue’s State Licensing Authority Convenes Intoxicating Hemp Products Task Force With Other CO Govt Depts

As directed by SB 22-205 Intoxicating Hemp And Tetrahydrocannabinol Products, the Colorado Department of Revenue’s State Licensing Authority (DOR SLA), in coordination with the Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), is convening the SB 22-205 Task Force to collaborate on a report to the General Assembly concerning intoxicating hemp products, legislative and rulemaking recommendations, and the analysis of the effectiveness of each recommendation for the regulation of intoxicating hemp products. Specifically, SB 22-205 requires the task force to study intoxicating hemp products and make legislative and rule recommendations. Discussion Subjects: Legislative recommendations concerning the regulation of Industrial Hemp and an analysis of the effectiveness of each recommendation Rule recommendations concerning the regulation of intoxicating hemp products Report: The work group is required to submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly on or before January 1, 2023. Meeting Dates: Meeting 1: July 13, 2022 Meeting 2: August 3, 2022 Meeting 3: September 7, 2022 Meeting 4: October 5, 2022 Meeting 5: November 2, 2022 Meeting 6: December 7, 2022 All meetings will be held virtually from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, unless otherwise noticed. How to Participate: Submit your request to serve on the Task Force: Stakeholders selected to serve on the Task Force are expected to attend all assigned meetings, engage in work group discussions, and collaborate with others to conduct research, draft sections of the required report, and present relevant information. Interested parties can submit their request to serve on the Task Force by completing the Google Form Application, linked herein, by June 15, 2022. The agencies may consider previous participation and engagement in other work groups or task forces, as well as subject matter expertise, experience, or knowledge relevant to the subject matter, when identifying parties to serve on the Task Force.
