Here in Australia taxpayers’ money is flushed down the toilet with heavy-handed police (usually with dogs) presence at all festivals searching people before, onsite and afterward…. Forward-thinking in Canada yet again that we hope others will pick up on… New provincial laws in Alberta, Canada allow for the delivery and consumption of edibles and other non-smokable cannabis products at concerts and music festivals. Music festival attendees in Alberta, Canada will be able to get non-smokable cannabis products delivered under new provincial laws that took effect on Tuesday, the Calgary Herald reports. Under the model, festivals and live events will offer attendees a designated consumption area where products will be delivered and consumed with food or beverages, as long as the service isn’t being sold or combined with alcohol. The program is subject to municipal approval. The change was made possible when the province moved to allow private cannabis retailers to sell online and make deliveries. Nathan Mison, president of Diplomat Consulting and a former cannabis retailer, said he hoped that smokeable products would eventually be allowed under the model but called the reforms “a big deal” and applauded Alberta officials for being “very willing to have unique and beneficial conversations” on the plan.
