Flow Cannabis Co. claims responsibility for inadvertently sparking Mendocino Broiler Fire

KRCTV reports….. A statement issued by the president of Flow Cannabis Co. appears to claim responsibility for inadvertently starting the Broiler Fire which destroyed nine structures. Cal Fire officials said the Broiler Fire broke out Wednesday afternoon in the Redwood Valley area of Mendocino County, burning 80 acres and destroying three residential structures. An official cause of the fire has not been released by fire investigators, but North Coast News has obtained a statement from Flow Cannabis Co., a cannabis cultivation company in the area, that acknowledges its role in starting the fire. In the statement dated July 9, Flow Cannabis President Jarom Fawson said information they gathered points to the fire being started by a spark generated by an employee-operated mower striking a rock. A statement obtained by North Coast News from Flow Cannabis Co. President Jarom Fawson claiming responsibility for an employee inadvertently starting the fire. “Words cannot express how truly sorry we are for the stress, anxiety, fear, and loss that our Redwood Valley neighbors have endured as a result,” Fawson said in the statement. “Nor can words express how truly grateful we are to the first responders who were immediately on the scene and who, through their heroic and coordinated efforts, prevented further devastation.” Fawson said he and his company are reaching out to families and organizations impacted by the fire, including the Humane Society of Inland Mendocino, the Mendocino County Fire Safe Council and the Redwood Valley Emergency Fund.
