Both have since been released on police bail as inquiries into the matter continue. The illegal grow was found on Apr. 23 after police received a report of suspicious activity the previous evening and obtained a search warrant. “Having attended the property, it soon became clear that this was a very sophisticated set-up and has produced in excess of £6 million ($10.3 million) worth of cannabis,” Detective Inspector Paul Coleman, the senior investigating officer, says in a video accompanying the press release. Upon entering the 40,000 sq. ft. unit, officers found about 7,000 plants being cultivated there, the statement notes. Coleman notes in the video that officers were on scene over the entire weekend and forensic searches have been completed. Additionally, the grow itself has now been dismantled and all of the cannabis seized, he reports. “This is a significant find and I am pleased that this operation allowed us to take out a huge amount of cannabis out of circulation to prevent criminals from profiting from them,” Coleman says in the statement.
