Efforts by Spanish firefighters to knock down a blaze in a small town near the coastal city of Baix Llobregat not only proved successful but also helped to stub out two large, illegal and separate cannabis grow-ops on the same street. Both weed plantations were hidden inside separate homes just 100 metres apart in Santa Coloma de Cervelló, local officers with the National Police discovered earlier this week, notes a translation of the police statement . In all, 2,270 weed plants weighing 200 kilograms were found after the fire had been doused and police were called to the scene. Investigators also discovered equipment used for growing and treating cannabis crops.
