A joint operation earlier this week ended with Irish authorities discovering about 129 kilograms of a substance believed to be cannabis and having an estimated street value of 2.58 million euros ($4 million). Two men, aged 45 and 52, are currently being detained following the bust in the Lusk area of North County Dublin on Feb. 3, notes a statement from An Garda Síochána , the national civilian police service in The Republic of Ireland. The operation “demonstrates Garda Síochána’s continued determination to work collaboratively with others for the purpose of tackling the importation of controlled drugs into Ireland, that cause significant harm in our communities,” Detective Chief Superintendent Angela Willis, head of the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), says in the statement.
