Could legal psilocybin retreats be coming to North America?

Jamaica and the Netherlands are popular destinations for those looking for a legal psilocybin mushroom experience. Psilocybin truffles can be openly purchased in the Netherlands, while Jamaica never outlawed the compound.  In recent years, companies have started hosting retreats in jurisdictions where psilocybin is legal. This includes Toronto-based Rise Wellness Retreat, which offers five-day wellness retreats in its Jamaican villa. Once there, visitors can choose to take micro or macro doses of psilocybin in a setting designed to give them the best experience. “People are really looking for better ways to take care of their mental health. In my opinion, this is an evolution and a necessary step as we use more technology-based medicine,” Rise Wellness Retreat co-founder Irie Selkirk told  The GrowthOp   last year. “It’s important that people understand that this is definitely a long-term approach to meaningful change in the way that people take care of their mental health,” Selkirk said.
