It was anything but the meaning of Christmas for wannabe thieves whose efforts were foiled because passers-by could plainly see them trying to break into a building that turned out to be housing a 2,000-plant illegal weed grow in Wales, U.K. The factory farm in Swansea was located in a building not far from a regularly used car park, Detective Inspector David Wells of the South Wales Police, Swansea notes in a Facebook post . That meant the pot posse, described by the Daily Mail as youths, could be seen by passers-by, some of whom simply opted to report the activity to police. Police found mature plants, lights and growing equipment inside the grow, according to the Daily Mail . Whoever ran the illegal grow is likely none-too-pleased about being outed by the thieves. Police are currently trying to track down the gang that ran the drug factory and identify those responsible for the operation, says Wells, adding that police are urging “anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area or who has any information to please contact us.” Big weed finds are nothing new in the U.K. Just this fall, police raided a three-storey cannabis farm at the former Big Bamboo nightclub in West Midlands, discovering 1,000 cannabis plants…
