Kwanza Hall (D-GA) pressures states and localities to expunge prior drug convictions by threatening to withhold federal money if they don’t. Hall previously enacted a marijuana decrim as an Atlanta City Council member. The top prosecutor in Multnomah County, Oregon—that state’s most populous county—is dropping drug possession cases early after voters approved a decriminalization measure that doesn’t formally take effect until February. Meanwhile, the state is accepting applications to serve on an advisory board on expanding treatment services in accordance with the ballot measure Sen.
