The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia is investigating an incident in which a 17-year-old youth was fatally shot shortly after a reported dispute over US$40 worth of weed. According to WTOC, witnesses told investigating deputies that the money was owed for the marijuana. It is reported that shortly after Lester and others ran off, an unspecified number of gunshots rang out. The teenager was struck once, causing fatal injuries. Recreational cannabis is illegal in Georgia . “Possession of more than one ounce (28 grams) of marijuana is a felony in Georgia, punishable by one to 10 years in prison,” according to FindLaw .
