The raid of Pot of Gold Medicinals and Edibles in Sarnia, Ont. earlier this month ended with the seizure of more than $1 million in cannabis and charges under the Cannabis Act . While executing a warrant at about 9 a.m. on Dec. 8 — the result of one of several investigations by the Ontario Provincial Police, with help from the Sarnia Police Service — police found approximately $1,043,110 in various forms of cannabis, including bud, oils and edibles, and $2,965 in cash. Two men involved in the operation and on scene at the time of the raid were arrested, notes a statement from the Sarnia police . The men aged 35 and 45 were subsequently charged under the Cannabis Act with illegally possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling. A second warrant was executed at about the same time on a residence in Corunna, Ont., where a 42-year-old female and three men, aged 38, 32 and 64, were arrested. Again, all four were charged with illegally possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling. A search of the home revealed $5,770 worth of cannabis products, $21,870 in Canadian currency and $178 in U.S. currency, all of which was seized.
