Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont suggests that legalizing weed in the state could help meet twin goals: providing additional tax revenue and also an incentive to stay close to home, thereby helping reduce COVID-19 spread. As of Nov. 10, the governor’s office reported that Connecticut had a positivity rate of 6.74 per cent, 548 patients were hospitalized, representing an increase of 52, and there had been nine additional deaths for a total of 4,707 in the state to date. Lamont told Yahoo Finance last week that Connecticut is pretty much surrounded by neighbouring states that have either legalized adult-use cannabis or appear to be on the cusp of doing so.
