Colorado dispensaries sold $218.6 million worth of marijuana in August, falling just short of the all-time monthly record, $226 million, set in July. Though August, typically the industry’s biggest month, broke that streak, sales are up 26% compared to the same month in 2019. August also saw the debut of Colorado’s first contactless weed vending machine. In the first eight months of 2020, consumers purchased more than $1.4 billion worth of cannabis products. Since recreational sales began in January 2014, the state’s dispensaries have sold more than $9.2 billion worth of cannabis.
