Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) included “decriminalization of other drugs” beyond marijuana in a police accountability plan he released. “Reducing police interactions by using non-law enforcement to deal with minor crimes and activities, and repealing punitive drug laws could reduce the criminalization and over-policing of communities of color.” A Michigan bill that would have allowed lawmakers’ spouses to obtain medical cannabis business licenses was scaled back on the House floor following Marijuana Moment’s reporting on its initial broad scope. Legislators still haven’t addressed policies that bar people with prior drug convictions from obtaining medical marijuana licenses, however. The Colorado House Finance Committee approved a newly introduced bill that would define which businesses qualify as marijuana social equity applicants and are eligible for incentives…
