Cannabis is legal across half of the United States already and the movement shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Canadians are also about to enjoy the effects of marijuana on their health, happiness, and economy. However, there is just one problem, and it is a very big one: The U.S. Federal Government still considers weed an illegal Schedule 1 narcotic.
Now, it is true that states can override federal laws with their own, but the trouble is that those crossing the border between the two countries are subject to federal compliance. Eleven states share a border with Canada, and although legal pot is of common interest, anyone caught with it, or even admitting their use of it, could face a lifetime ban on entering the United States.
