Horry County Might Welcome a New Hemp Processing Facility in Socastee

The hemp industry has grown multifold over the past one year after the federal government legalized hemp production under the Farm Act. It has been taking off across the country, especially in South Carolina.  Reports show that the global industrial hemp market is forecasted to grow from $4.6 billion in 2019 to a whopping $32 billion by 2022. Hemp can be used for a wide range of industrial and commercial products, from textiles to rope to a popular item many people are turning to, CBD oil.  CBD has become a trending ingredient and is touted for its health benefits that range from anxiety to pain relief to sleep aid. After the legalization, hemp has become a rich agricultural crop that many farmers are growing. It has given a substantial boom to the agricultural industry creating more jobs and money for the state.  Now, with the rapidly growing industry of hemp and its derived products, many people are entering into the CBD business.
