Canada|Indigenous Groups In Canada Are Drafting Their Own Marijuana Laws

Six Nations, Canada’s most populous indigenous group, says it’s drafting its own cannabis law rather than wait for the federal government in Ottawa to impose regulations.

“Our main concern is the health and safety of our community, particularly the young people,” Six Nations Chief Ava Hill told The Toronto Star.

Hill also said that indigenous groups throughout Canada need to capitalize on the potential economic benefits of marijuana legalization.
